Our schedule is very quickly booking up for private pARTies, FUNdraisers, and company events.  If you are interested in having a pARTy before the end of the year, contact us ASAP!  We want to get all of your information to you as quickly as possible to start promoting your event!!

FUNdraiser for the Dance Factory August 28, 2014

What a great time we had painting these beautiful masterpieces!  We raised $200 for the Dance Factory in Jennerstown.  This money will be helping them to provide dance scholarships. Thank you all for coming out!  Hope to see you again!

Meet our Newest Instructor!

Hello all!  My name is Anna Martin and I am excited to join the Uptown Painting Party family!  Getting to do the thing I love to do most in the world…paint!

annaTo say a few things about myself; I am a local girl who has lived in Somerset County her whole life.  I love art and anything that has to do with art. In the past, I have been a substitute art teacher, gave private lessons, and painted at conferences.  I have been painting for longer than I can remember and growing up, I attended art classes at GTDP, Art Seeds, and learned many things from my mom, who is also a local artis, Penny Neimiller.

I love my family and my kids! (That’s why I have 3!) They are amazing! I am learning something new all the time.  For example, saying things like, “you shouldn’t put cheese in an outlet” (You know, mommy stuff!)  I also have a wonderful and very supportive husband, Paul.

I can’t wait to meet all you fabulous people and share fun times together.

Having FUN Raising FUNds, Updated Calendar, New FUNdraisers and More!

A Great Time Had pARTying to Raise Funds for the Somerset County Mobile Food Bank

Wow!  What a great time at the Uptown Painting pARTy as we helped the Somerset County Mobile Food Bank raise $250 = helping to feed 50+ Families!  We had 21 pARTiers, including guests all the way from Pittsburgh, representing the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank!  Thank you ladies for visiting us and helping to make this event a great success!

The paintings are BEAUTIFUL!  Great job everyone!  Hope to see you soon!!

Uptown Painting pARTy Hosting FUNdraiser for the Pinkerton Tunnel Project!

 Please join us as we host a FUNdraiser to help raise money to open the Pinkerton Tunnel!

gap-logosmaller“Great Allegheny Passage currently takes a 1.5 mile detour around a deteriorated railroad tunnel, near mile 52 in Somerset County. Besides shortening the distance, fixing the tunnel will create another spectacular feature along the trail. Located between the Pinkerton Low and High Bridges, the “bridge-tunnel-bridge” in quick succession will be a marvel. It will also make a great way to create a loop ride, using the tunnel and the detour trail.”

Uptown Painting pARTy in Uptown Somerset, PA is Unique and Fun!

We’re starting to bring summer of 2014 here to a close as we look forward to our September and October dates.  So much fun was had over the last months with all of our FUNdraisers and creative events we have held.  We appreciate all of your wonderful feedback and hope that you continue supporting our venue as we look forward to the upcoming holidays.

If you have any ideas or would like to see something on our calendar, reach out to us!  We’ll be glad to take your ideas and look for ways to incorporate them into the upcoming weeks.

July 31, 2014: Lighted Cube Event

How cool was this event??  We created our very own lighted cubes!  Everyone had a GREAT time, and the teens were able to spend quality time with their parents and family members!  It was such a nice night and everyone did a FABULOUS job!  Thanks so much for visiting us and hope to see you again soon!

August 6, 2014: Sunset Lake

These ladies had a wonderful time at Uptown Painting pARTy as they painted beautiful canoes on a Sunset Lake!  Way to go ladies, you did GREAT!

Wow! We got great feedback from our Field of Flowers during our private pARTy with Servpro of Somerset County, so we decided to bring it back a second time!  We are so glad we did!  These ladies did a WONDERFUL job!! Thanks so much for coming out and hope to see you again soon!

Meet Our New Assistant!

We are so happy to have Alberto help us during events!  We wanted to introduce you to him officially, even though many of you have met him once or twice at our pARTies!

albertoHi, my name is Alberto VanHecke and I thrilled to be an art instructor assistant at Uptown Painting pARTy!

I grew up in Southern Wisconsin, in a town by the name of Watertown. I moved to Pennsylvania in November of 2013, and currently reside in Rockwood, PA with my loving girlfriend Tia.

While I have had no formal art education I have a had a fair amount of art experience. I enjoy various forms of art, however my true passion is in digital art, mostly focusing on photography, cinematography, and video editing. I have published photography for newspapers, record companies, local business, and others. Science and nature are my two most constant sources of inspiration.

Uptown Painting pARTy is Bringing New Creative Ideas, Lights and More!

We’ve been having a great time pARTying here at Uptown Painting pARTy, located in Glades Court Mall, Uptown Somerset, PA!

Thank you all for pARTying with us, scheduling events, and pARTicipating in Facebook contests, and sharing our venue with your friends and family.  We have had nothing but great revues from pARTiers who are trying something new for the first time!

July 23, 2014- FUNdraiser for Hopeful Hearts Charity

We had SO MUCH FUN at the FUNdraiser for Hopeful Hearts charity!  We were able to raise $350 by pARTiers just coming to paint and pARTy with us!

Spearheaded by Ms. Christy Berzonski, she is doing wonderful things for families who have been stricken by cancer and financially burdened by the incredibly high medical costs that can be associated with the diagnosis.  We pray Christy can continue to do wonderful things for families and are so happy that our FUNdraiser was able to help her form her nonprofit.  If you would like to find out more information and how to help contribute to her cause, please visit her Facebook page by clicking here!

July 25, 2014- Hot Air Balloons

Uptown Painting pARTy is Having a Ton of Fun This Summer!

We’re having so much fun this summer as we pARTy along to our wonderful art instructors as they help us create our very own masterpieces!  All of our artwork is first hand created by our artists!  We love to bring new ideas to the painting pARTies and we’re starting to get really creative.  Look for more lights, wood, and mason jars, and so many more new things as well begin to develop our late summer and fall pARTies.

July 18, 2014- Guitar Jam Session with Billie Jo and Shawn Green providing LIVE music!

WHAT FUN WAS THIS EVENT???  For those of you who could’t make it, you really missed out on a fabulous time!  We just loved the live music- so relaxing and fun!! HUGE SPECIAL thanks to Shawn Green for providing the music- you are wonderful!  – and of course, Billie Jo Miller for your always fabulous instruction! 🙂

This was really a fun class….thank you Billie Jo and we look forward to the Fall months when we can get you back on the calendar!!!  We’ll miss you!

pARTy PEOPLE!!!!  Check out our “Paint Your Own Cornhole Board Event” on August 16, 2014 from 7pm- 10pm!!!

Here is a sample of what your boards will look like:

We will be using a stencil to create this really cool set!  Instruction will be by our good friend, Robin Lust from Pittsburgh/Greensburg area.

It is only $99 per couple- Price includes:

  • 2 cornhole boards
  • instruction for 2 people
  • paint
  • and bean bags are $5 extra!

This past week featured three paintings: Sunny Finch, Sunflowers and Bees, and Primitive Art Night!  We are so happy the group came out to pARTy with us during your busy summer days.  We will continue to post classes, and more ideas for you to create your very own masterpieces!

Remember, you don’t have to be an artist to pARTy!  Our painting events are all about YOU having a great time and releasing your inner Picasso!  Just come, relax, and get out of your “comfort zone!” Try something new with your friends!
